Surrending to the Universe…
If you saw “Up”, then you know how Ellie feels here. That’s how I feel now.

They showed both Sister Act movies today on TV. I love both movies, but I especially love Sister Act 2 because it’s about kids in high school, and I just started going to high school around the same time the movie came out. I love all the songs, especially this one. Lauryn Hill sings amazingly in the film, and on this song especially. The 90s was definitely a special time for music.
“Joyful, Joyful”
Sister Act 2 Cast
Joyful, Joyful, Lord, we adore Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee
Hail Thee as the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light
Fill us with the light
Oh, fill us with the light of day
(Check the rhyme)
Joyful, Joyful, Lord we adore Thee
An’ in my life I put none before Thee
Cuz since I was a youngster I came to know
That you was the only way to go
So I had to grow an’ come to an understandin’
That I’m down with the King so now I’m demandin’
That you tell me who you down with, see
Cuz all I know is that I’m down with G-O-D
You down with G-O-D?
(Yeah, you know me)
You down with G-O-D?
(Yeah, you know me)
You down with G-O-D?
(Yeah, you know me)
Who’s down with G-O-D?
(Everybody)
Come and join the chorus
The mighty, mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began
The Father of love is reigning over us
(Right away)
What have you done for Him lately?
Ooh, ooh, ooh yeah
What have you done for Him lately?
He watches over everything
So we sing
Joyful, Joyful, Lord, we adore Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee
Hail Thee as the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin, sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness (won’t you)
Fill us (Fill us with the light of day, Lord, fill us)
Fill us (oh we need You, yes we do, fill us)
Fill us (yeah…, oh, oh yeah)
Fill us (with the light of day, Lord)
Fill us (on the steps we pray, Lord)
Fill us (with the light of day, Lord)
(We need you, come right away,
We need you, need you today, we need you,
I’m here to say fill us, fill us, fill us, fill us…)
Fill us with the light of day ( oh, yeah)
Light of day!
Before I start getting more auracle reading requests, I want to write about something different for a change hehe. I realize that I haven’t even written about my trip to the Philippines yet, so now that I’ve finally managed to upload all the photos, I’ll gradually start writing about my trip in the next few days. In the meantime, I want to write about the movie I saw last night, Tron: Legacy.
Like I say with a lot of movies, in order to enjoy this one, you kinda have to lower your expectations. To begin with, the concept was very similar to the virtual world of the Matrix movies. Granted, the original Tron movie came out in 1982 while The Matrix came out in 1999, so clearly you can’t say Tron copied The Matrix. Aside from that, the story wasn’t all that great, the acting was so-so, and the storyline got sappy at some points.
Still, with all my expectations lowered, I really did enjoy the movie. Most of it was in 3D, which is a plus for me cuz ever since Avatar I haven’t been as excited about blockbuster movies that are just in 2D. While I wasn’t wowed, the whole movie had a whole 80s retro vibe about it, which I’m guessing was deliberate since the original movie came out in 1982. The color palette, electric blue and orange, was quite artistic, and the scenes inside the Tron world where the lights were carving out such beautiful shapes was pretty awesome. It really did feel like you were inside an 80s video game.
The best part of the movie, I have to say, is the fact that they chose Daft Punk to do the soundtrack. As far as I’m concerned, Daft Punk pretty much led the 80s retro movement in house music in the early 00s. They did an awesome job previously doing the soundtrack for Interstella 5555, where their biggest hits like “One More Time” and “Digital Love” came from. They were an inspired choice to do the soundtrack, and a lot of the 80s vibe of the film came from their music.
Here’s the music video for “Derezzed”, one of the tracks on the soundtrack. The video includes a lot of the scenes with the pretty, electric blue and orange lights.
So all in all, as long as you’re not expecting too much, Tron: Legacy is a pretty OK movie. It’s pretty, and it’s OK. Hehe. For those that haven’t seen the movie yet, here’s the full trailer:
Hola. I booked my flights to Manila earlier, and I’ll be in Manila every weekend of my trip. Here are my flights for the rest of my visit:
Mama is going to fly with me to Cebu on December 6 and we’ll come back to Manila together on December 8. She has been asking me to bring her with me to Cebu for several years now, and thanks to this trip I’ll finally be able to give her this trip as a Christmas present.
I’m surprised that there are full length movies on YouTube. Normally they remove full movies, but I guess if they’re movies that no one really watches then they don’t bother. I first heard about “Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem” in 2001 when Daft Punk released songs from their “Discovery” album. I loved “One More Time”, “Aerodynamic”, and “Digital Love”, and I loved how the music videos continued the same story. I only managed to watch the full movie, and listen to the rest of the songs on the soundtrack, just last year after arriving in India. I admit, the story is kinda crappy — record executives from Earth kidnap an alien rock band to become superstars on Earth, and an astronaut from the alien rock band’s planet rescues them and helps them remember who they are. Hehe. But like I said in my last blog post about “Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown”, any film with lots of music is bound to make me love it.
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting “Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem”…
